Rose Talbert was started in 1919 by W. H. Rose. His first plant was located on Daloz Drive in Columbia. That plant later burned down in April of 1940. His second plant was built in Columbia off Elmwood Avenue. In 1973, the business was sold to Robert B. Walker Jr. The plant was relocated to the Cayce – West Columbia area for further expansion.
Today Rose Talbert has four stores in South Carolina; they are located in Cayce, Columbia, Florence, and Charleston, with the plant and the administrative offices also located in Cayce.
